Police Officer Nabbed for Firing Gun in Front of 3 Children in Parañaque City
A police officer was arrested on Christmas Day after allegedly threatening and firing a gun in front of three children.
On early Thursday (December 25, 2025), a cop was nabbed in Barangay Sun Valley, Parañaque City for allegedly firing a gun in front of three children. The post quickly raised concern among residents and authorities.
The suspect is a 28-year-old patrolman assigned to the Maritime Group. He was taken into custody after being reported for grave threats and the careless discharge of a firearm. According to the complaint, the incident started when three minors were making noise and using firecrackers during the holiday celebration.
Instead of calmly addressing the situation, the officer allegedly confronted the children, pulled out his service firearm, and fired a shot in front of them. The children, aged 10, 12, and 15, were deeply frightened by the incident.
Their guardian immediately brought them to the Sun Valley Police Sub-Station to report what happened.
Police records show that the officer was arrested at around 12:10 in the morning. Authorities recovered a PNP-issued 9mm firearm from him, along with live ammunition, an empty cartridge case, and his police identification card. These items were secured as part of the investigation.
The incident was strongly condemned by the National Capital Region Police Office leadership. Officials stressed that there is no place in the police force for abusive behavior, especially when children are involved.
They emphasized that being a police officer does not give anyone the right to threaten or use violence.
