Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Not Wanting to Greet Pres. Bongbong Marcos
SARA DUTERTE
– The Vice President refused to greet Pres. Bongbong Marcos amid the Christmas season now saying the holidays won’t change her stance.
It is holiday season once again and many working individuals as well as students are on Christmas break. In the case of Pres.
Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the Palace previously claimed that it will be a working Christmas holiday
for him. The Chief Executive is scheduled to review the approved budget of the bicameral conference committee for 2026.

Marcos Jr. does not want a reenacted budget for 2026. According to Malacañang, it can result to the non-completion of a lot of projects set by the government. Meanwhile, the Palace was confident that the national fund would be passed.
Amid the Christmas season, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked about her message to Pres. Bongbong Marcos. It is no secret to the public that the President and the Vice President has a deep rift that was greatly triggered by the alleged political moves against her and the arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.
Based on the post, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte gave a direct answer as she refused to give a message for Pres. Bongbong Marcos amid the Christmas season. According to her, no special occasion can make her change her stance.
“Bakit, magbabago ba ‘yung ugali niya kung Christmas o hindi? Hindi naman magbabago. And in the same din, magbabago ba ‘yung ugali ko kung Christmas o hindi?”

Bongbong Marcos then when it was not Christmas, she does not want to greet him even more now that it’s Christmas time. She stressed that she is the kind of person who really does not greet those she does not want to greet.
“Kung ayaw ko siyang batiin kahapon na hindi Christmas, (mas) ayaw ko siyang batiin ngayon na Pasko. Eh ganun kasi ako na klase na tao, ayaw kong batiin ang mga ayaw ko batiin,”
