Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Gives Message for Filipinos on Rizal Day

– The Vice President called on the Filipinos to not let the spirit of wisdom and unity die in her Rizal Day message.
One of the
2025 holidays in the Philippines
is December 30 which is the Rizal Day. It is a national holiday commemorating the life and works for the country’s national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.
December 30 is the death anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal. The country’s national hero died on December 30, 1896 at the age of 35. Every Rizal Day, the President and the Vice President release a message.
In her Rizal Day message, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte stated that Dr. Jose Rizal passed on his fearless love for the country and his dream of a real liberty based on the light of truth through his write-ups.
“Sa araw na ito, ginugunita natin ang buhay at diwa ng ating Pambansang Bayani na si Dr. Jose Rizal. Sa pamamagitan ng kanyang mga akda, ipinamana ni Dr. Jose Rizal ang diwa ng walang-takot na pagmamahal sa bayan at ang pangarap ng tunay na kalayaan na nakabatay sa liwanag ng kaalaman,”
the Vice President said.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the real lesson of Dr. Jose Rizal is clear — that freedom is not only being free from the foreign forces but as well as the freedom of our minds and emotions from abuse, division, and evil.
Furthermore, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed her hope that our strength and courage to stand for truth and justice be restored. Through her message, the Vice President called on the Filipinos to not let the spirit of wisdom and unity die.
“Sa paggunita natin sa kanyang sakripisyo, manumbalik nawa ang ating lakas at tapang na manindigan para sa katotohanan at katarungan. Huwag nating hayaang mamatay ang diwa ng karunungan at pagkakaisa,”
Duterte said.

“Ang tunay at pangmatagalang pagbabago ay nagsisimula at nagmumula sa malalim na pag-aaral, moral na integridad, at sama-samang pagkilos sa ating komunidad at mga institusyon. Mabuhay ang diwa ni Dr. Jose Rizal! Mahalin natin ang Pilipinas—para sa Diyos, sa Bayan, at bawat Pamilyang Pilipino,”
