Father & Son in Pangasinan Got Injured After Firecrackers Explode While Riding Motorcycle

A father and son in Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan got injured after the firecrackers they had just exploded while riding a motorcycle.

The incident happened in Barangay Marunong and was caught on a nearby store’s CCTV camera. The video showed how strong the blast was, sending shock and fear to people in the area.

The father suffered burns and wounds on different parts of his body. His minor son, who was riding behind him, was also hurt. Because of their injuries, both were rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment.

Part of their motorcycle was burned, showing how intense the explosion had been. The force of the blast even shattered a window of a nearby house.

According to initial findings, the father and son came from San Carlos City and traveled to Sta. Barbara to buy fireworks. They were on their way back when the accident happened.

Police explained that the fireworks, believed to be small rockets, were being held by the child. While the motorcycle was moving, the fireworks may have brushed against the road or the motorcycle’s exhaust, creating friction that caused them to ignite and explode.

Some residents nearby acted quickly and saw that the father’s clothes were already on fire. They immediately poured water on him to help stop the flames and prevent more serious injuries.

Authorities are still trying to get a full statement from the father and son as they recover. The incident serves as a strong reminder of the dangers of handling fireworks, especially while traveling and when children are involved.
