According to Cabral’s driver, Ricardo Hernandez, they drove from Manila to Baguio to distress. Hernandez claimed that they were already at the Kennon Road in the morning but they were allegedly told by the police to leave the area citing that it is accident-prone.
The driver of the former DPWH Usec. further claimed that they drove straight to Baguio where they ate and checked in at a hotel. According to him, at around 2:30 p.m., his boss asked that they will return to the Kennon Road.
Cardo Hernandez also claimed that former DPWH Usec. Maria Catalina Cabral allegedly asked him to leave her for a while and just return. However, according to him, she was no longer at the area when he returned after an hour.
The driver of Cabral claimed that he supposedly returned to the hotel to check if she was there and reported to the police. On the early eve of the said day, the former DPWH Usec.’s body was found below the Kennon Road. She was unconscious and unresponsive. She was declared dead after a few hours.
Amid the calls for Cabral’s autopsy, her family initially declined. Her husband, Cesar Cabral, stressed that he already confirmed that it’s his wife and their children also confirmed that it’s their mother who was found.
Aside from speaking about the said findings from Cabral’s autopsy, the PNP also revealed the findings from the 3D scan of the ravine of the former DPWH Usec. Based on the
report
, the authorities believe that she supposedly slid off and was not pushed.
“Makikita n’yo na ang layo ng katawan ng victim o cadaver ay around only 0.2 (meter) from the base of the ravine. Kung tinulak ito, chances are lalayo pa siya roon,”
PNP Forensic Group officer-in-charge Police Colonel Pierre Paul Carpio said.
Amid the issue, a Baguio
hotel released a CCTV footage before former DPWH Usec. Cathy Cabral fell to her death in a cliff in Benguet
