Malacañang on Marcos Jr.’s Low Trust Rating: “Ang ginawa niya ay isang right decision na maaaring hindi popular”

Statement of Malacañang on Low Trust Rating of Marcos Jr. Amid PH Gov’t Corruption Issue

Malacañang Palace reacted to the low trust rating of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. amid the corruption issues in PH government.

This year, the trust rating of Marcos Jr. went on an up and down trend. There was a time when the

trust rating of Pres. Bongbong Marcos was lower than the ratings of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte

and there were also times when it rose. However, recently, the President’s trust rating dipped.

Based on the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) poll, the trust rating of Pres. Bongbong Marcos decreased to -3%. In October, his trust rating was at 7%. His very low rating came amid the massive corruption issues in the Philippine government.

The President himself was tagged in the corruption issues in the Philippine government. According to former House of Representatives Budget Appropriations Committee chairman Zaldy Co, Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez allegedly ordered a P100-billion budget insertion in the 2025 national fund.

Co further claimed that Marcos Jr. and Romualdez allegedly received a P56-billion kickback all for themselves. Malacañang was quick to defend the President saying that the former House member implicated Marcos Jr. as he allegedly wants the investigation to stop.

“Kung ang dahilan ng pagbaba ng rating ng Pangulo ay dahil sa ginagawa niya sa pagpapaimbestiga sa mga sangkot sa maanomalyang flood control projects na nakakaapekto sa ekonomiya na nagiging sanhi ng political noise, hindi iindahin ng Pangulo ang pagbaba ng rating dahil sa ang ginawa niya ay isang RIGHT DECISION na maaaring hindi POPULAR decision dahil maraming maaapektuhang tao at politiko,”

Castro said.

According to the Malacañang press official, Marcos Jr. knew that his administration will be affected by the flood control investigation but he pushed through with it for the country and the Filipino people. Based on the

report

, she also chided the previous administration.

“Mataas nga ang rating ng nakaraang administrasyon sa loob ng anim (6) na taon pero may mga kickbacks bang naisuli o nakasuhan kahit maraming ghost projects as early as 2020?”

the Malacañang press Usec. said.
