Duterte’s Former Spox Harry Roque Speaks on Overseas Stay

– Duterte’s former Spokesman asserted that he has no desire to stay long abroad but he allegedly did for his rights.
Roque is staying in The Netherlands for several months now. He even recently admitted that he is staying out of the country for a year now and it is allegedly for his human rights. The former spokesman of former President Rodrigo Duterte went into hiding after he was tagged in the issue over the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the country.
Roque was out from the public sight until March 2025 when the custody of Duterte was transferred to the International Criminal Court in The Hague. He even offered to be part of the ICC legal team of his former boss.
However, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte stressed that they want lawyers who can really focus in the ICC case of her father. According to her, Harry Roque should focus in his bid for asylum in The Netherlands.
Amid his application for asylum, a Philippine
court recently ordered the cancellation of the passport of Harry Roque which led him to seek for prayers
. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously claimed that her father’s former Spokesman allegedly has a health condition.

Harry Roque recently vowed that his loyalty to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is ‘until death’ even if charges against him will pile up. He also called for the resignation of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. multiple times already.
According to Duterte’s former Spokesman, he will return to the country on the first day after the term of Marcos Jr. ends. He also claimed that he cannot forgive the President for allegedly causing the physical distance between him and his family.
“Isang buong taon po ako na nanirahan sa isang dayuhang bansa. Hindi ko po ginusto ‘to pero ito po ‘yung tanging pamamaraan para mataguyod ko naman po ang aking karapatang pantao sa kabila ng panggigipit, pagsasampa ng mga tanim-kaso, at paninira na dinanas ko sa kamay po ng administrasyon ng vangag na Marcos Jr.,”

, Harry Roque also stressed that he’s away from his family for a year. He also expressed that he’s unable to practice his profession for a year already.
“Isang taon din po akong nawalay sa aking pamilya, sa aking mga mahal sa buhay. Isang taon po akong nawalan ng hanapbuhay. Hindi ko po nai-pratice ang aking propesyon,”
