Akbayan Party-list Representative Chides Sen. Imee Marcos

– Akbayan Party-list Representative Percy Cendaña slammed the Senator for defending Vice President Sara Duterte.
Amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government which was triggered by the arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Sen. Imee Marcos aligned herself with the Duterte family. She even left the senatorial slate of her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, during the 2025 Midterm Elections.
Sen. Imee Marcos was endorsed by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Both government officials have stressed in several occasions that their friendship was already there even before all these issues. According to the Senator, she’s really saddened over what was done to former Pres. Duterte.
In several occasions, the presidential Sister has spoken on the defense of the Vice President. Sen.
Imee Marcos also previously expressed her belief that there is allegedly a plan to send Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to jail
. She also recently claimed that the supposed “soft pork” in the 2026 national budget may allegedly be used against the Vice President.
“Kung magkakaroon man ng impeachment ngayong 2026, ‘yan ay dahil doon sa mga unresolved na mga issues pa rin. Doon sa pang-aabuso sa kapangyarihan ni VP Sara noong siya ay DepEd secretary at ngayon na siya ay vice president,”
the Akbayan Representative said.
Furthermore, Akbayan Party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña called on Sen. Imee Marcos to allegedly not confuse the people. He stressed that the issue is the alleged misuse of the confidential funds and the questions that have yet to be answered until now.
“Huwag nating lituhin ang taumbayan. Ang usapin dito pang-aabuso sa kapangyarihan, ang usapin dito ‘yung nawawalang milyong-milyong piso,”
he said.

, Akbayan Party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña further claimed that because of what Sen. Imee Marcos is doing, he is thinking if she is really a senator or the president of the fans club of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
“Minsan nga dahil dito sa mga sinasabing ito ng Senador, napapaisip tayo, ‘Siya ba ay senador o president ng Sara Duterte Fans Club? Ano ‘yung kanyang trabaho legislator ba o defender in chief?’”
Cendaña added.
