E.S. Ralph Recto Speaks on Speculations over Marcos Jr. Cabinet amid Corruption Issue in PH Gov’t

– The Executive Secretary broke his silence on the rumored shakeup of the Cabinet of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Countless Filipinos were left disappointed and calling for accountability by the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption. Several officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and members of the House of Representatives were tagged in the issue.

Some senators and former Senate members were also implicated in the supposed multi-billion flood control scam. The issue brought thousands of Filipinos to the streets at least twice already to protest against corruption in the government.
Amid the issue, Pres.
Bongbong Marcos vowed that the government will run after the flood control culprits
so he previously called on them to surrender and not wait for the Philippine government to chase them. However, the President himself was tagged in the issue.
Former House Budget Appropriations Committee chairman Zaldy Co who is one of the alleged main role players in the supposed multi-billion flood control scam claimed that Marcos Jr. allegedly masterminded a P100-billion budget insertion in the 2025 national fund. According to him, the President and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez also supposedly received millions of kickback.

“At present, there is no impending Cabinet shake-up… Speculation about looming revamp does not serve any constructive purpose for the Government or the Filipino people,”
