Drunk Female Student Allegedly Abused by Father of Her Classmate
A drunk female student was allegedly assaulted while asleep, the father of her classmate was arrested in Cebu City.
A young student was traumatized after she was assaulted while sleeping inside a house where she had been invited for a family celebration. The incident happened in Barangay Basak Pardo in the early morning of Sunday, January 11, 2026.
The 23-year-old woman had been invited to a small gathering for the birthday of her classmate, the child of the suspect. During the celebration, alcohol was served, and the woman became intoxicated.
She later fell asleep in one of the bedrooms of the house, believing she was in a safe place. The suspect, a 51-year-old man known as Leo and the father of the student’s classmate, later entered the room while the victim was asleep.
Authorities said the man assaulted the young woman while she was unconscious. He later claimed that he believed the person beside him was his wife because the victim did not wake up or resist at the time.
The victim explained that she was heavily intoxicated and asleep during the incident, leaving her unable to react or protect herself. After realizing what had happened, she reported the incident to her parents. Together, they went to the police to seek help and file a complaint.
Police arrested the suspect on Monday, January 12, 2026. Investigators later learned that the suspect’s wife had been sleeping in another room with their child, which raised doubts about his explanation. Authorities also noted that the suspect appeared confident the victim would not report the incident.
The police are preparing to file a rape case against the suspect once all necessary evidence is completed. It includes medical findings that will help confirm the assault. The victim is currently receiving support from her family as the case moves forward.
