Malacañang Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro Faced with Libel Case over Remarks on Cong. Leandro Leviste’s Solar Firm

– The Malacañang press officer Undersecretary reacted to the libel case filed by Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste.

Leandro Leviste filed a libel case against Atty Castro
before the Balayan, Batangas Regional Trial Court. He tagged Castro’s remarks over the solar company that he sold as “libelous”.
Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro supposedly claimed that Batangas Cong. Leandro Leviste sold a company that holds a government franchise. The son of Senator Loren Legarda claimed that the solar firm that he sold had no franchise.
“Hindi ko po ibinenta ang prangkisa… Ang ibinenta kong kumpanya ay walang prangkisa,”
Leviste said.
According to Batangas Cong. Leandro Leviste, he does not want Atty. Claire Castro to get hurt but he needs to defend his name as the Malacañang press official has supposedly made her claim in several vlogs already. Recently, the Palace press official spoke on the charges filed against her before the Balayan, Batangas Regional Trial Court.

“Kakasuhan ba niya ako dahil sa hindi ako kaibigan ng nanay niya at hindi niya ako ginagalang? Can we say that the statements of the Ombudsman are with basis and not maligning while my statements sourced from the Ombudsman are nothing but libelous?”
