Malampaya East-1

– The President announced the discovery of natural gas called the
Malampaya East-1
which can power millions of households.
Amid the supposed massive corruption in the Philippine government, Marcos Jr. vowed that the administration will run after the corrupt officials and hold them accountable. In his
New Year message, Marcos Jr. called on the Filipinos to continue with a clear direction and hope
. He also recently claimed that the work of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) is “coming to the end”.

“I am pleased to inform everyone that for the first time in over a decade, a significant natural gas discovery has been made. The discovered reservoir called Malampaya East-1 or MAE1 is located about five kilometers East existing of the Malampaya Field,”
Marcos Jr. said.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos further expressed that the “MAE1 is estimated to contain around 98 billion cubic feet of gas in place”. According to him, it is equivalent to almost 14 billion kilowatt-hour of power in a year.
“Ibig sabihin makakapag-supply ito ng kuryente sa mahigit 5.7 milyong kabahayan 9,500 na gusali or 200,000 schools in a year,”
