Woman Left Shaken After Mother Place Electric Kettle on Stove
A woman was left shaken after her elderly mother accidentally placed an electric kettle on top of a stove, thinking it was a regular teapot.
The incident happened while the mother, known as Lola Tetay, was alone in the kitchen. She put the kettle on the stove and turned on the gas. She did not realize that the kettle was electric and not meant to be placed over an open flame.
As the fire grew bigger, she even tried to adjust the stove knob, unaware of the danger. When the flames became noticeable, Lola Tetay called for her daughter, Cecilia. Upon seeing what was happening, Cecilia quickly rushed to the stove and turned off the gas.
She appeared shocked and overwhelmed, but with the help of others around her, they managed to calm down and put out the fire before it spread further.
At 80 years old, Lola Tetay sometimes struggles with memory, which made the situation more concerning.
Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the fire was stopped in time. Lola Tetay was safe, although she appeared shaken by the incident. The family felt relieved that a bigger disaster was avoided.
The family took extra steps to prevent a repeat of the incident. They decided to place a lock on the stove and promised to watch over Lola Tetay more closely.
