Statement of Malacañang on Arrest of Former Sen. Bong Revilla
Malacañang claimed that President Bongbong Marcos is “sad” over the arrest of former Senator Bong Revilla due to alleged flood control corruption.

Bong Revilla was ordered by the Sandiganbayan Third Division to be detained at the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas
Former Sen. Revilla is accused of alleged involvement in the supposed “ghost” flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan. The said project was allotted P92.8-million.
Yesterday, former Sen. Bong Revilla was accompanied by his wife, Cavite Representative Lani Mercado, and Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla at the Sandiganbayan. The DILG Chief claimed that it was really Revilla who called him to inform him about his decision to voluntarily surrender to the authorities.

on Inquirer, it is detention in a city jail not only for Revilla but as well as the six (6) other individuals mentioned above. The arrest of former Sen. Bong Revilla came a few days after Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that the work of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) is allegedly coming towards the end.
Recently, Malacañang spoke on the side of Marcos Jr. over the former Sen. Bong Revilla’s arrest. He was part of the President’s senatorial slate during the 2025 Midterm Elections.
“Sabi niya malungkot siya dahil nakasama niya ‘to sa Alyansa at kaibigan niya si Senator Bong Revilla. Ganu’n pa man, proseso pa rin ang mananaig. So ‘yun na lamang po, kailangan pong pagdaanan ito at may proseso. But still, sinabi po niya na malungkot po siya sa nangyari,”
the Malacañang official said.
According to Atty. Claire Castro, Pres. Bongbong Marcos was surprised over the issuance of an arrest warrant against former Sen. Bong Revilla but he is firm that those who must be investigated should be probed even if they are his allies. The Malacañang press official stressed that there is no sacred cows in the flood control probe and Revilla’s arrest proves it.
