LTO Summons Motorcycle Rider Who Pulls Out Knife During Road Rage

Motorcycle Rider Pulls Out Knife During Road Rage, License Suspended

A motorcycle rider is facing serious trouble after being caught on video pulling out a knife during a road rage incident.

The alarming video quickly reached authorities, prompting immediate action to protect public safety and send a clear message against violent behavior on the road.

The Land Transportation Office, under the leadership of Markus Lacanilao, issued a show cause order to the rider involved. The agency stressed that carrying or using any bladed weapon on public roads is not only against the law but also a danger to everyone.

Such actions can easily turn minor traffic disputes into life-threatening situations. The rider was ordered to appear before the LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division at East Avenue in Quezon City on Wednesday, January 21, at 1:00 in the afternoon.

He was also required to submit a sworn written explanation along with original and valid documents. The process will help authorities decide whether his driver’s license should remain suspended or revoked entirely.

The LTO explained that the rider’s behavior could classify him as an improper person to operate a motor vehicle. Because of this, the motorcycle used in the incident was placed under alarm status to ensure it is monitored and cannot be used to cause further harm.

Ang paggamit ng anumang uri ng patalim sa kalsada ay hindi lamang labag sa batas kundi isang direktang banta sa buhay at kaligtasan ng lahat,

LTO said.

The motorcycle rider’s license was immediately suspended for 90 days while the case is being reviewed.
