A groping incident in Tondo, Manila, leads into an intense street fight, leaving the boyfriend of the victim injured.

On the early hours of Monday, January 19, 2026, an incident of unwanted touching led to a physical fight along Varona Street in Barangay 97 in Tondo, Manila.

CCTV footage showed a woman walking with her boyfriend when a man wearing a white shirt suddenly touched her chest as he passed by. The act shocked the woman, causing her to instinctively hit the man out of surprise and anger.

Her boyfriend immediately tried to confront the suspect, but people nearby were able to stop him before the situation worsened.

Instead of walking away, the suspect returned and confronted the couple. Another video later captured a heated argument between both sides.

Despite the man being the one who initiated the incident, it was the woman’s boyfriend who ended up with bruises and injuries after being attacked. Barangay officials later explained that the suspect and the woman had known each other since childhood.

According to them, the suspect treated the act as a form of old joking behavior, not realizing that the woman was already with her boyfriend. The misunderstanding appeared to have triggered anger and conflict.

“Sabi lang nung victim natin, hindi pa siyang handang magpatawad at maaaari pang magbago ang pasya nya,”
