Authorities Arrest Man for Touching Grade 2 Pupil in Marikina City
The incident happened past seven in the evening on May 27, 2024, while the child was standing outside their house. The man suddenly approached the young girl without any reason.
Authorities said the child did the right thing by speaking up right away. Her parents also acted quickly by filing a formal complaint, which helped move the case forward. Police then gathered statements and evidence related to the incident.
“Biglang nilapitan lang po siya. As in nasa mismong harap lang siya ng bahay. Nilapitan siya ng lalaki after po na nilapitan siya, hinawakan siya sa kanyang maselang bahagi ng katawan at bigla po siyang binigyan ng P25,”
Marikina City Police Station OIC Police Colonel Jenny Tecson said.
On January 15, 2026, a warrant of arrest was issued against the suspect. On the morning of January 22, 2026, police officers from the Marikina City Police arrested him along Malaya Street in Barangay Malanday. He did not resist arrest and was taken into police custody.
The suspect claimed that he was close to the victim’s family because they lived near each other. He admitted to the act and said he regretted what he did. Despite this, authorities emphasized that any form of abuse against children is a serious offense and must be dealt with firmly.
Police also disclosed that the man was listed as the eighth Most Wanted Person at the district level for the month of February. He is currently detained at the Marikina Police custodial facility.
The suspect is now facing charges for Acts of Lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610, also known as the law that protects children from abuse, exploitation, and discrimination.
