– The one-year ban on the filing of impeachment complaints against the President officially starts after the House of Representatives referred two (2) impeach raps to the chamber’s Committee on Justice.
Recently, the
second impeachment complaint against Pres. Bongbong Marcos
was filed before the Office of the Secretary General of the House of Representatives. It was filed by the Makabayan bloc.

The first impeachment rap against the President was filed last January 19. It was penned by lawyer Andre de Jesus and endorsed by Deputy Minority Leader at

Party-list Rep. Jett Nisay. Marcos Jr. is accused of alleged betrayal of public trust.
Respondent ordered and enabled the kidnapping and surrender of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

, the second impeachment complaint filed against the President was endorsed by party-list opposition lawmakers Antonio Tinio of ACT Teachers, Sarah Elago of Gabriela and Renee Co of Kabataan party-list.
