Statement of Malacañang Palace on Impeachment Complaints vs. Marcos Jr.
The Palace spoke on the side of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. over the impeachment complaints recently filed against him.
At least three (3) impeachment complaints were filed against Pres. Bongbong Marcos in the first weeks of January 2026. The President is accused of alleged betrayal of public trust over several grounds.
The first impeachment complaint filed against Marcos Jr. was penned by lawyer Andre de Jesus and endorsed by Deputy Minority Leader at
Pusong Pinoy
Party-list Rep. Jett Nisay. De Jesus accused the President of alleged betrayal of public trust over the said grounds:
Respondent ordered and enabled the kidnapping and surrender of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Respondent is unfit to serve as President due to drug addiction.
Respondent committed betrayal of public trust when he failed to veto unprogrammed appropriations (UA) and other unconstitutional provisions in the General Appropriations Bill (GAB).
Respondent engaged in graft and corruption through kickbacks and ghost projects.
Respondent created the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to shield corrupt allies.
Respondent violated the Constitution and betrayed public trust by surrendering former President Duterte to the ICC.
Two (2)
impeachment complaints filed against Marcos Jr. have been referred to the House Committee on Justice and the ban officially started
. No impeachment rap may be filed against the President until January 26, 2026.
Recently, the Palace spoke on the impeachment complaints against Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Malacañang previously assured that the President is ready to face any impeachment rap that may be filed against him.
“Ang Pangulo ay gumagalang sa proseso,”
Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro said.

Atty. Claire Castro claimed that the impeachment complaints filed against Marcos Jr. will allegedly not be able to stop the President from doing his work to uplift the life of every Filipino. The Malacañang Usec also said the President respects the process of the House of Representatives.
“Itong mga impeachment complaint na naisampa laban sa Pangulo ay hindi mapapahinto ang Pangulo sa kaniyang pagtratrabaho para iangat ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino,”

Meanwhile, Recto assured the media that Marcos Jr. is fine. According to the Executive Secretary, the President is “catching up with paper work”.
