Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on ICC Case vs. Dad Rodrigo
SARA DUTERTE
– The Vice President expressed her belief that the International Criminal Court (ICC) allegedly intends to really imprison former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte supposedly based on its actions.
The International Criminal Court denied the interim release appeal of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte last November. The former President waived his right to personally appear at the hearing.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was represented by his lawyer, Nicholas Kaufman, at the hearing over his interim release appeal. The British-Israeli Lawyer previously claimed that
Duterte is allegedly not fit to stand trial which resulted to the postponement of the confirmation of charges hearing
According to Kaufman, the former President can hardly recall events and even close members of his family. The interim release plea came after Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that a third country is allegedly willing to host the interim release of her father.
ICC ruled that Duterte is fit to stand trial
based on the assessment of the medical experts.
According to the British-Israeli Lawyer, they will appeal the ruling of the court over the fitness of the former President to stand pre-trial proceedings. It was previously reported that over 1,000 evidence against Duterte already have been handed over to the Defense Team.
Currently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is in The Hague, Netherlands. The Vice President once again spoke on the ICC amid the continued detention of her father. Based on a post on social media, the younger Duterte claimed that the foreign court is allegedly bias.
“Ang dapat na lang nating pag-isipan ay kung ano ang makapagbibigay ng moral support sa kanya. Huwag na lang nating isipin ang ICC dahil klaro naman na hindi ito patas. Makikita ito sa mga hatol nila na wala nang basehan,”
the Vice President said.

, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte believes that it would be better to assume that the ICC will really imprison former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. According to her, the actions of the foreign court supposedly shows that it is headed to her father’s imprisonment. She claimed that the foreign court is allegedly a “bias political court” and not a court of justice.
“Huwag na nating isipin ang ICC. I-assume na lang natin na talagang ikukulong nila… Klaro na ‘yan ang pupuntahan ang kanilang mga kilos,”
the Vice President said.
Recently, the
ICC has released a new schedule for the confirmation of charges hearing of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte
