Young Baker’s Arm Gets Trapped in Dough Roller Machine in Pasay City
A young baker was rescued after his left arm got trapped in a dough roller machine at a bakery in Barangay 179, Maricaban, Pasay City.
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the baker was cleaning the dough roller when his hand was suddenly pulled inside the machine, which was still turned on. His arm was tightly trapped, making it difficult to remove him right away.
Fire and rescue teams from the Bureau of Fire Protection in Pasay quickly responded to the scene and assessed the situation. At first, responders thought it was a simple case, but they later realized that the arm was severely stuck inside the machine. Because of this, additional rescue personnel were called in to help.
“Yung braso niya medyo may deformity kasi naipit sa roller machine tapos sobrang in pain siya. ‘Yung pain scale niya is 10/10 tsaka ‘yung bleeding niya din po medyo malala kaya kailangan namin i-control din ‘yung bleeding bago dalhin sa ospital,
” BFP Team Leader FO3 Rowena Manlabao said.
The team carefully used a hydraulic cutter to open the machine and free the baker’s arm without causing more serious injuries.
The victim suffered a minor fracture on his left wrist and deep wounds on his upper arm. His arm showed signs of deformity due to the pressure from the machine, and he was in extreme pain.
The rescue team also worked to control heavy bleeding before rushing him to the hospital for further treatment.
The young baker is a stay-in employee who came from Samar and was only recently hired by the bakery. The owner of the bakery assured authorities that all medical expenses for the injured worker would be covered.
Barangay officials confirmed that the bakery is registered and has complete permits, and has been operating in the area for several years. They believe the accident may have been caused by the worker’s lack of experience.
