Man Dies After Killed by Co-Workers for Being “Snitch”
A man in Tuy, Batangas was allegedly killed by his fellow co-worker for being ‘snitch’ and later dumped along the roadside.
In the early hours of Monday morning (February 2, 2026), the male victim’s corpse was discovered in Sitio De Guzman, Barangay Sabang, after a passing motorist noticed a body and alerted authorities.
Police identified the victim as Rex, a 44-year-old employee of a warehouse in the area. His body was found with his head covered by a sack, raising concern and fear among nearby residents. Investigators moved quickly, and within a short time, two suspects were arrested. Both were confirmed to be co-workers of the victim.
Initial findings revealed that tension had been brewing at their workplace. The suspects allegedly believed that Rex had reported one of their fellow workers to their employer, which led to that person losing his job. This belief reportedly triggered anger and resentment, eventually turning violent.
According to investigators, one suspect first attacked the victim by punching him repeatedly. The second suspect later joined in the assault, making the situation more serious.
Other workers nearby reportedly heard gunshots during the incident but were too afraid to intervene or report the matter right away. The suspects allegedly threatened witnesses to keep them silent.
After the killing, the suspects reportedly ordered others to help place the victim’s body on a motorcycle. They then abandoned the body along the roadside, hoping it would not be traced back to them.
Their plan failed as police were able to gather enough information to identify and arrest them. The two suspects are now detained at the Tuy police station while charges are being prepared.
Authorities reminded the public of the importance of addressing conflicts peacefully and reporting threats early to prevent such tragic outcomes.
