Addressing the matter in a forum, Frasco made her directive clear.

“I have actually already issued an order to our regional offices as far as we are concerned in the DOT to, number one, take down any material that may bear my image. Number two, do not produce any material that may bear my image,”

she said.

The clarification came shortly after Sen. Raffy Tulfo raised concerns, calling her out for allegedly highlighting herself more than the country’s tourist destinations. The senator’s remarks sparked discussion online, with some questioning whether the materials were appropriate for a government tourism campaign.

Frasco firmly denied any political motive behind the visibility of her image, stressing that she has no intention of seeking elective office in the upcoming elections. She pushed back against the criticism, saying her public presence is tied to her responsibilities as tourism chief rather than personal ambition.

“The accusation is that I’m very visible because I wish to promote myself. But could there perhaps be room for the argument that I’m very visible because I’m simply working? Nothing else,”

Frasco said.

Frasco’s move signals an effort to address concerns promptly while reiterating that the Department of Tourism’s campaigns should spotlight the country’s attractions above all else.
