Students Cross Floodwaters After River Overflows in Madalag, Aklan
Several students in Madalag, Aklan, were forced to cross fast-moving floodwaters after a nearby river overflowed due to heavy rains.
On Monday morning (February 9, 2026), some students rushed floodwaters after the river in Madalag overflowed. The incident happened in Barangay Panipiason, where rising water levels made roads dangerous and difficult to pass.
In the video, students and some residents can be seen carefully trying to cross the rushing floodwaters. The water was strong and deep, making every step risky. While some managed to get through, several motorists were stranded along the road, unable to cross and return to their barangays because of the powerful current.
The video also showed the river overflowing and sending large amounts of water rushing through the area. The flood quickly covered roads that are usually safe to pass, catching many by surprise.
The fast flow of water made the situation more dangerous, especially for young students.
