The alleged exit of a courier service as a logistics partner for an online shopping platform saddened some Filipinos who prefer it for their delivery needs.

Reports that

J&T Express Philippines

is exiting as a delivery option for

Shopee

customers appeared online, with some sellers claiming they had received advisories from Shopee about the development.

“Beginning Feb 9, J&T Express will no longer serve as a logistics partner until further notice. To ensure continuity and maintain service quality, other shipping options have been activated for your shop. Check here,” the advisory read.

The seller also

claimed

that the shopping platform had already removed J&T Express as a delivery service option as early as January 20.

“Ohhhh, you will be missed @J&T Express [sad emoticon] my one to go courier for almost [four] years,” the seller wrote on February 9.

A buyer, meanwhile, claimed that her husband was approached by a J&T rider who regularly delivers parcels to their household.

“Few [minutes] ago, kuya rider delivered [three] parcels and my husband took it. Akala ko kung bakit antagal nila nag-uusap. Then husband went back. Sabi niya, nagpaalam na daw si kuya rider dahil starting [February], wala na sila (J&T) sa Shopee,” the Threads user

on January 30.

“Tho I knew that naman, sobrang nakakalungkot pa din dahil malaki daw talaga ang mawawala sa kanila. He also said [ang laki] din kasi ng hinihingi ni Shopee kay J&T, that’s why they pulled out,” the Threads user

“Mabait pa naman si kuya, and ‘pag wala kami, hindi niya hinahagis ang parcel (‘di tulad nung sp*) and minsan, nasasabihan namin na sa guard na lang iwan. Hayyys. Anyway, padayon, Kuya. Hope good things will happen pa rin! Laban lang!” the Threads user continued.

Reports of J&T’s exit saddened some buyers, who said the courier service was “quick” in delivering parcels compared with other logistics providers on the platform.

“Wala [ng] J&T sa Shopee. Mas mabilis pa naman sila mag-deliver at mas mababait riders dito samin,” an

said on Monday, February 9.

“Ay. Boo. J&T ang magaling mag-deliver samin dito sa Bacoor. Flash Express, dami ko issue. Sasabihin wala ‘yung dedeliveran… kaso never naman sila nag-doorbell sa bahay. Nag-antay ako sa wala,” another

wrote with a sad emoticon.

“Buloook. J&T can deliver parcels the next day, meanwhile, SPX pakatagal,” another

J&T is a courier service with nationwide branches that support deliveries across the country, including intercity, interprovincial, and island-to-island routes.

It operates year-round, including on weekends and holidays.
