College Student Loses Mobile Phone After Being Robbed Two Men Riding Tricycle

A college student became the victim of a robbery on the evening of February 9, 2026, in Barangay 19, Bacolod City.

The victim was identified as John Michael Jemino, 22 years old, and a student at a university in Bacolod. According to his partner, John Michael was about to enter their apartment when a tricycle carrying two men suddenly stopped near the gate.

At first, nothing seemed unusual, but it later became clear that the suspects had been watching him.

As John Michael stood in front of the gate, one of the men stepped down from the tricycle and blocked his way. The suspect grabbed John Michael’s right arm, which was holding his cellphone.

Because of the force, the victim lost balance and fell backward near the tricycle. The suspect then hit his head, causing him to suffer a bump.

Aside from the injury to his head, John Michael was also threatened with a knife. Fearing for his safety, he was unable to fight back. The suspects quickly took his cellphone and escaped using the tricycle. The incident left the victim shaken and hurt.

John Michael later reported the incident at Police Station 1, where officers immediately recorded the case. Authorities said they already have a person of interest and are continuing their efforts to identify and locate the suspects.
