The recent lunch meeting of the members of the opposition sparked speculations that they are possibly starting to talk about the 2028 Elections already. Former Vice President and now Naga Mayor

In 2022, then-outgoing Vice Pres. Leni Robredo and then-former Sen. Kiko Pangilinan formed a strong tandem that gathered countless supporters nationwide. However, the Leni-Kiko tandem did not make it to lead the presidential and vice presidential results. Meanwhile, several political analysts believe that they made historical campaign rallies that gathered solid supporters.

In the 2022 Elections, then-former Sen. Bongbong Marcos ran for president and united with then-outgoing Davao Mayor Sara Duterte. The BBM-Sara tandem was victorious on the numbers in the election results. However, their tandem had a falling out after more than a year.
Since 2024 when Duterte left the helm of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Marcos Jr. Cabinet, the Vice President has claimed several times that the Marcos Jr. administration allegedly wants her out. Both the President and the Vice President are faced with corruption accusations and impeachment complaints were filed against them.

“We’re not losing hope na magbabago pa ang desisyon ni VP Leni na tumakbo uli sa 2028 because, for me, she’s the most winnable among opposition possible or potential opposition na candidates,”
