The MRT management has not yet released a statement regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, the same MRT station made headlines this week after one of its station supervisors, not sanctioned by the MRT management, placed signage on an escalator at the platform.
The sign read: “Each step you climb is a gift to your heart, lungs, and muscles.”
The sign drew flak, as some felt it overlooked commuters with impairments and senior citizens who cannot easily use stairs.
The MRT management has since removed the signage and assured the public that malfunctioning escalators on station platforms “will be addressed immediately, with repairs prioritized to ensure minimal disruption.”
