Student Jumps Gets Hit by Vehicle on Road After Jumping from LRT-1
A male student jumped from the LRT-1 Fernando Poe Jr. Station and was hit by a passing vehicle on the busy road below.
The incident occurred along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue and drew the attention of commuters, motorists, and emergency responders.
In the first few moments after the fall, the victim was still seen moving. A rescue team from a media organization quickly arrived at the scene to check for signs of life and attempted to provide emergency care.
Efforts were made to revive the victim while authorities worked to secure the area. However, shortly before 11:00 in the morning, all movement stopped, and resuscitation efforts were eventually halted.
While first responders did not immediately make an official declaration, the situation was already grave.
Several ambulances rushed to the scene, including units from the media rescue team and the MMDA Road Emergency Group. Traffic slowed as responders worked carefully around the victim and ensured public safety.
The Light Rail Manila Corporation later confirmed that an incident involving a male individual took place at the station at around 10:30 in the morning. The company also stated that it is closely coordinating with authorities as investigations continue.
Despite the incident, train operations were not affected and continued as normal. The management extended sympathy to the family of the victim and appealed for understanding as authorities work to determine the full details.
