A hand grenade was found inside of Antipolo Elementary School in Minalabac, Camarines Sur, causing fear and panic among teachers and students.
The quick action of the school authorities helped prevent what could have been a far more serious incident.
Local police responded right away. The PNP K9 Team arrived at the school, securing the area and making sure no other harmful items were present. The team moved carefully around the campus, checking corners and open spaces to ensure the safety of everyone. Officers were able to recover the grenade, which thankfully did not explode.
The explosive is now in the custody of the PNP Camarines Sur. Investigators are working to determine who brought the grenade into the campus and how it ended up in an area accessible to students. They are also checking if the incident is related to any ongoing local concerns.
