Amid the Supposed Massive Flood Control Mess, Marcos Jr. Speaks Anew on Corruption in PH

Zaldy Co’s corruption accusations against him, Pres. Bongbong Marcos dared him to return to the Philippines
and face the allegations against him. Co’s one of the government officials tagged in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption.

Marcos Jr. vowed that he will bring the flood control issue to its conclusion as he was the one who initiated it. His promise came amid thousands of Filipinos left disappointed by the flood control mess after several congressmen and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as well as some senators were tagged in the issue.
Last September 21 and November 30, thousands of Filipinos were on the streets to protest against corruption. The rally was called the “Trillion Peso March” and several known celebrities in showbiz joined the protest action.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos ordered the creation of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure or ICI to investigate the flood control mess. The three-member body has already endorsed its recommendation for the filing of charges against several individuals linked to the issue.
“What we are trying will precisely change the system. When you have to excise a cancer out of such a complicated system, you need to do major surgery, and when you do that, you will bleed and that is what we have to go through,”
the President said.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos further believes that the Filipinos have to go through pain and the “difficult anguish” but he did not specify which he was specifically referring to. Meanwhile, based on the

, the President stressed that the government will continue the fight against corruption.
”We know what we are going to do… and we will continue this campaign against corruption. We will continue our campaign on this abuse, on this entitlement… that has shocked everyone, myself included,”
Marcos Jr. said.
Amid the supposed massive corruption in the country wherein he was implicated to as well as the illegal drug use allegations of his sister against him, there are calls for the President to resign. Recently, Vice Pres.
Sara Duterte was also asked if she is ready to replace Pres. Bongbong Marcos if he resigns from the position
