An issue occurred in the partnership between ABS-CBN and TV5
ABS-CBN responded to the announcement from TV5 announcing its decision to terminate its content partnership.
When the Kapamilya network was not able to renew its franchise back in 2020, the company opted to create online content materials and eventually provided content to other networks.
Some Kapamilya shows are airing on the GMA network
FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, The Iron Heart, Dirty Linen, Everybody Sing,
ASAP Natin ‘To
are airing on TV5.

This goes to show that the network rivalry was just a history. Talents are freer now as well to appear on shows on other networks, which made fans happier. However, just recently, TV5 decided to terminate its contract with ABS-CBN.
Based on the statement released by the Kapatid network,
the Kapamilya network was not able to pay ₱946.16 million
. It was stated that the programs of the Kapamilya network on TV5 will air until January 2, 2026.
In this regard, ABS-CBN released a statement this Thursday, December 4, 2025. The Kapamilya network explained that one of the reasons why they are having difficulty paying is the termination of their franchise in 2020.

Going through that tough circumstance, the network had to start again from the bottom and face a unique challenge that they had never experienced before. The Kapamilya network promised that they are doing everything they can to fulfill their obligations to the Kapatid network.
If ever the Kapamilya shows will no longer air on TV5, the company promised that they will find ways so that avid viewers will still continue to watch the shows.
