Pres. Bongbong Marcos Gives Update on Flood Control Investigation in PH

– The President revealed that he ordered the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to check the whereabouts of Sarah Discaya for a looming arrest.

Not only senators, congressmen, and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) were tagged in the flood control mess but as well as contractors. Truth be told that the issue started when Marcos Jr. named the 15 contractors that supposedly receive a huge part of the flood control projects of the government. Some of them were owned by Curlee and Sarah Discaya.

The Discayas are undeniably the most popular among the contractors who are investigated amid the flood control mess. After the issue broke out, their past interviews with Julius Babao and Korina Sanchez flaunting their lavish lifestyle circulated on the social media and earned them criticisms.

The Discayas have attended the Senate flood control hearings multiple times. During one of the probe, Sarah Discaya admitted to owning 9 construction companies. She also answered in the affirmative when asked if there were instances when her construction companies bid for the same DPWH projects.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos gave an update about the flood control investigation. He focused on the alleged findings of a P96.5-million ghost flood control project of St. Timothy Construction, a construction company owned by Sarah Discaya, in Davao Occidental.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that malversation charges is non-bailable. Thus, Discaya cannot pay for her temporary liberty if she will be arrested.

“I have directed DILG and the PNP to ensure that they know the whereabouts of Discaya at nung iba pa para paglabas ng arrest warrant ay maaresto na sila kaagad,”

Marcos Jr. said.
