The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has confirmed that controversial contractor Sarah Discaya had surrendered to the authorities on Tuesday. This surrender came ahead of the warrant arrest release as announced by President

, own several companies that scored billions-worth of flood control projects that were not materialized, while some used substandard materials.
“She appeared in the morning and asked to be placed under our jurisdiction without delay,”
NBI Acting Director Lito Magno said. AS per her lawyer, her surrender due to her alleged involvement in the
anomalous flood control projects
doesn’t mean she is guilty. It was accordingly a “strategic legal move.”
After her surrender, which comes with the possibility of imprisonment, she expressed her worry about her children. She is worried as to what could happen to them if she gets imprisoned, as all four of her children, three boys and one girl, have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD.
While Sarah has voluntarily surrendered to the NBI, her husband is under the custody of the Senate of the Philippines due to contempt.
“You don’t just think of, ‘Ay, hindi ako makukulong kasi nadamay lang ako.’ Iniisip ko, long-term din, baka mamaya talagang makulong talaga ako. Ayoko sana kasi, as everyone knows, my kids, they all have ADHD. Husband ko, nasa Senate, tapos ako makukulong. Ang hirap… ang hirap,”
she stated.
As a mother, it extremely bothers her, and her stress has already manifested physically on her. She appears to be deeply affected by their current situation.
Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano said this about her,
“May karapatan siya sa due process, pero hindi puwedeng gawing palusot ang takot para takas ang pananagutan. The consequences are here because the choices were hers.”
