The release of the SRI is dependent on the approval of the President. All these year-end pays usually assist the Filipinos in their holiday expenses. Truth be told that gatherings are usually left and right every December.

Recently, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved the Administrative Order No. 40 that grants the one-time SRI of the employees in the different offices and agencies of the government. The incentive approved by the President is up to P20,000.

While the regular employees receive an SRI, the contractual and job order employees of the different government agencies and offices will get a gratuity pay of up to P7,000. Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed the Administrative Order (AO) No. 39 that grants a gratuity pay to contract of service (COS) and job order (JO) workers who have rendered a total or an aggregate of at least four months of service as of December 15 and whose contracts remain in effect on the same date.

In the AO, it is stated that workers in the national government agencies, the state universities and colleges, the government-owned or -controlled corporations and the local water districts who are under contract or job orders do not enjoy the same privilege with the regular employees.

Meanwhile, those who rendered service for less than four (4) months may still get their gratuity pay on a pro-rata basis. COS and JOs who worked for three months but less than four months of service will receive gratuity pay not exceeding P6,000.

Employees who work for two months but less than three months service will received a gratuity pay not exceeding P5,000 while those with less than two months service will get a pay not exceeding P4,000.

“Granting a year-end Gratuity Pay to COS and JO workers is a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and valuable participation in the implementation of various programs, activities, and projects (PAPs) of the government, and their pivotal role in the delivery of government services amidst the present socio-economic challenges,”

the AO stated.
