After several officials of the agency were accused of alleged involvement in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption, President
Bongbong Marcos ordered a sweeping review of the DPWH budget for 2026
Marcos Jr. also asked the congress to come up with a clean budget. According to the Palace, the order of the President is to ensure that “resources are directed toward infrastructure projects that genuinely served and benefit Filipino people”.
Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro assured the public that the Department of Budget Management (DBM) and the DPWH will look closely into the proposed budget of the department. Then, the Malacañang official said that changes in the proposed budget may be made through an errata.
“Ito po ay pag-aaralang mabuti kaya po ang DBM pati po ang DPWH ay bubusisiin po ito talaga kung totoo bang nagkaroon ng mga duplication, nagkaroon ng insertion, dapat po kasi matanggal ito through errata,”

, DPWH Sec. Vince Dizon explained to the bicam that the request for the restoration of the cut portion of the agency’s proposed budget is because of the changes in the Construction Materials Price Data (CMPD).
“Alam ko pong mahirap kami pagkatiwalaan, pero ‘yun po ang hinihiling namin sa inyo ngayon,”
Dizon said.
