List of 31 Banned Firecrackers Issued by PNP
The Philippine National Police has released the list of 31 banned firecrackers to protect the public as the holiday season approaches.
The agency has reminded the public to celebrate safely by avoiding dangerous firecrackers and released a list of 31 banned firecrackers that are not allowed to be sold, bought, or used because of the serious risks they pose to people, especially children.
According to the PNP Firearms and Explosive Office, these firecrackers are prohibited due to their strong explosive power and high chance of causing injuries.

Boga
Pla-pla
Piccolo
Goodbye Philippines
Goodbye Delima
Giant Bawang
Goodbye Napoles
Atomic Bomb
Bin Laden
Super Lolo
Goodbye Bading
Super Yolanda
Goodbye Chismosa
King Kong
These firecrackers have been linked in the past to burns, lost fingers, eye injuries, and other serious accidents.
Aside from the named firecrackers, the PNP also banned oversized firecrackers and those that are overweight. Any firecracker that weighs more than 0.2 grams is considered illegal. Firecrackers with fuses that burn faster than three seconds are also not allowed, as they give users little time to throw them safely, increasing the risk of injury.
The police stressed that these rules are not meant to spoil celebrations but to protect lives. Every year, hospitals report injuries caused by illegal firecrackers, many of which could have been avoided.
Offenders may face serious consequences. Under Republic Act 7183, anyone caught using or selling prohibited firecrackers may be punished with six months to one year in prison.
