Apartment in Puerto Princesa Hit by Series of Thefts
Residents of an apartment in Puerto Princesa City were left alarmed after a series of theft incidents were reported in their area.
The incidents happened at Palawan Casa Apartment along Malvar Street in Barangay San Miguel and took place on separate days during the second week of December.
According to reports, the first incident happened in the early morning of December 10 at around four o’clock. CCTV footage showed two men walking quietly in front of the rooms located on the lower floor of the apartment.
The suspects were seen wearing casual clothes, with one in a white T-shirt and shorts, while the other wore a black T-shirt and shorts. Both were wearing slippers and black caps, making them blend in easily with the surroundings.
Later that same morning, another CCTV clip captured one of the suspects carrying a black piece of clothing believed to have been stolen. The man was seen walking near the area where residents usually hang their laundry, raising concern among the tenants who later noticed missing items.
The suspects reportedly returned to the apartment on Sunday, December 14. Once again, CCTV cameras recorded two men passing in front of the apartment rooms. This time, they were wearing T-shirts and shorts, with their faces partially covered to avoid being identified.
In another CCTV angle positioned near one of the rooms, a suspect was clearly seen taking a pair of shoes that had been placed on top of a chair. The shoes were then placed inside an ecobag before the suspect calmly walked away from the scene.
The repeated incidents have caused fear and frustration among residents, who now worry about their safety and belongings. Many are calling for stronger security measures and are urging authorities to take swift action.
The residents hope the suspects will soon be identified and held responsible, bringing peace of mind back to the community.
