Pokwang Apologizes After Brother Is Linked to Viral Road Incident
POKWANG – The Pinay comedian has apologized after her brother allegedly slapped a father and child pushing a cart.
Comedian Pokwang spoke up after learning that the man involved in a viral road incident was her own brother. The video showed a heated encounter between a pickup truck driver and a father who was pushing a cart with his young child.
The incident quickly spread online and drew strong reactions from the online community.
The driver was seen confronting the man, and at one point, he allegedly struck him before another person stepped in to stop the situation from getting worse. The presence of the child made the scene even more painful to watch.
After confirming that the driver was her brother, Pokwang released a video message to address the issue. She expressed regret over what happened and reached out to the father and his child to say sorry.
“Ako po ay humingi ng dispensa doon po sa kanyang nakaalitan, lalong lalo na po doon sa anak na babae pasensya ka na iha, dadalawin kita ha. Wait lang ha pupunta ang Tita Pokwang mo diyan. Pasensya ka na.”
she said.
While she did not defend her brother’s actions, she asked the public to be careful about attacking other members of her family who had nothing to do with the incident.
Pokwang raised concern over online posts that showed the faces of her relatives, reminding everyone about the harm caused by cyberbullying and careless sharing on social media.
