The Ombudsman ordered the Benguet authorities to preserve the custody of the gadgets of former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral.
The death of
former DPWH Usec. Maria Catalina Cabral gathered different opinions from the public after she was found dead due to an alleged fall
from a Benguet cliff. Her body was found 2o to 30 minutes near the Bued River at the Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet on Thursday.
Cabral’s death came amid the controversial flood control scam in the Philippines. She’s one of the officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways who were tagged into the issue.
Amid the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the government, former DPWH Usec. Maria Catalina Cabral resigned from her position. Public Works chief Vince Dizon accepted her resignation two (2) days after she tendered her resignation letter.
According to Cardo Hernandez, the driver of former DPWH Usec. Maria Catalina Cabral, his boss allegedly asked to be left behind at the Kennon Road. He claimed that they went from Manila to Baguio to distress and she was allegedly looking fine but was mostly silent during their trip.
The body of former DPWH Usec. Maria Catalina Cabral was brought to a local funeral parlor. Amid her death, the Office of the Ombudsman spoke on the gadgets of the former Public Works Official who is a controversial name in the flood control mess in the country.

Cabral’s driver, Cardo Hernandez, recounted the events prior to the death of the former DPWH official
