Oil Price Rollback Expected on Tuesday (December 23, 2025)

DOE Announces Oil Price Rollback This Week

FUEL PRICE UPDATE – The Department of Energy announced an oil price rollback starting Tuesday (December 23, 2025).

Starting Tuesday, several oil companies will lower their pump prices. Gasoline will be cheaper by P0.80 per liter, while diesel prices will drop by P1.30 per liter. Kerosene users will also benefit, as prices will go down by P1.60 per liter.

The adjustments will take effect early in the morning, allowing motorists to enjoy the savings right away.

Steep fuel price increase set for South Africa in November 2021

Not all fuel stations will offer the same products. Some oil firms do not sell kerosene, so the price drop for this fuel will not be available everywhere. Still, the decrease in gasoline and diesel prices is expected to help many motorists, including public transport drivers and delivery workers who depend on fuel for their daily livelihood.

Despite the rollback, fuel prices remain higher compared to the start of the year. Drivers have faced several price hikes over the past months, and the latest reduction only trims a small part of those increases.

Even so, any decrease is welcome, especially during a season when household expenses are usually higher.

As Christmas approaches, the lower fuel prices may help ease travel costs and stretch budgets a little further. For many motorists, this

brings a small but meaningful break as they head into the busy holiday period.
