Beer Crates Spill on Road After Wing Van Panel Collapses

Beer Crates Scattered on Road After Delivery Vehicle Collapses in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental

Numerous beer crates were spilled on the road when a delivery vehicle suffered a mechanical failure in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

The incident happened on Saturday, January 3, 2026, along Inawayan Bridge in Barangay Oringao, causing damage to several vehicles and nearby property.

The accident involved an Isuzu wing van carrying bottled drinks. The vehicle was traveling from Kabankalan City to Dumaguete City when it reached a curved portion of the road.

According to the traffic investigation, the side panel of the van suddenly collapsed, causing dozens of beer crates to fall onto the road. Bottles rolled in different directions, covering a wide area and blocking traffic.

Authorities reminded the public that taking items from accident scenes is not allowed and may lead to further problems.

The falling crates hit three vehicles that were passing through the area. Two Suzuki Carry units and one Toyota Wigo were damaged after being struck by the heavy crates. In addition, the fence of a 77-year-old resident living near the bridge was also destroyed.

The sudden impact left vehicle owners shocked as they assessed the damage caused by the spill.

Traffic slowed down as authorities and responders worked to clear the road. Broken bottles and crates had to be removed carefully to prevent accidents and injuries. Drivers were advised to take alternative routes while cleanup operations were ongoing.

A single mechanical failure can quickly turn into a dangerous situation, putting motorists, pedestrians, and nearby residents at risk. Authorities continue to review the incident to prevent similar accidents in the future.
