Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte Speaks about Dad Digong

– The Davao City Congressman is now back in The Hague, Netherlands to visit his father, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The International Criminal Court or more popularly known as
ICC rejected the interim release appeal of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte
. The decision of the court was accepted by his family “with open hearts”.
Duterte is detained under the custody of the ICC since March 2025. He just arrived from Hong Kong when the Philippine authorities who assisted the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) arrested the former President.
On the same day, March 11, the former President was detained at the Villamor Air Base for several hours before he was flown out of the country for the transfer of his custody to the ICC. The former Chief Executive is faced with three (3) counts of murder as alleged “crimes against humanity” filed by the prosecution team.
Since the transfer of the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to the ICC in The Hague, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte, and Kitty Duterte were taking turns in visiting their father. There was also an instance when they were allowed by the foreign court to visit him altogether.
After the International Criminal Court junked the interim release plea of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte anew last November, it was Vice Pres. Sara Duterte who immediately arrived in The Hague, Netherlands. Recently, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte returned in the foreign country to visit their father.
Kitty Duterte was already in The Hague when Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte arrived. Based on a post on social media, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has still not eaten his lunch when his children arrived to visit him at the ICC detention center.
