Residents in Minglanilla Shocked After Puppy Found Carrying Head of Abandoned Infant
Residents of Purok 10, Lubas 1, Barangay Camp 7 in Minglanilla, Cebu were shocked after seeing a puppy carrying the head of an infant.

According to police, one resident noticed the puppy walking around with something unusual in its mouth. Alarmed by what she saw, the resident approached the animal. As she got closer, the puppy dropped the object, revealing the head of a newborn infant.

Minglanilla Police Station chief Police Lt. Col. Theresa Macatangay.

she added.

Initial findings suggest that the baby may have been abandoned by an unknown individual. Police and barangay officials conducted a search within a 50-meter radius of where the head was found, hoping to locate the rest of the baby’s body. Despite their efforts, no other remains were discovered.
During the search, authorities also found the mother dog nearby. Blood was seen around the dog’s mouth, leading investigators to believe that the animal may have consumed the rest of the infant’s body.
The possibility was supported by the noticeable size of the dog’s stomach at the time.
The incident deeply saddened residents in the community, many of whom expressed disbelief and grief over what had happened. It raised serious concerns about the safety of newborns and the heartbreaking circumstances that could lead someone to abandon a child.
Police are now working to identify and locate the baby’s mother, as well as any other person who may be involved in the abandonment.
Meanwhile, the recovered head of the infant has been placed in the bone chamber at the Minglanilla Public Cemetery.
