An arrest warrant was also issued against former House Budget Appropriations Committee chairman Zaldy Co. He is accused as one of the alleged biggest role players in the flood control mess.

However, Zaldy Co refused to return to the country. Instead, he accused Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez of allegedly masterminding a P100-billion insertion in the 2025 budget. Malacañang immediately reacted to the claim of Co.

According to Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, Zaldy Co allegedly wants the flood control investigation to stop so he tagged the President in the issue. Marcos Jr. challenged the former House Budget Appropriations Chairman to return to the country and face the allegations against him.

Recently, Malacañang spoke again on the flood control probe. Based on a report on Inquirer, Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro claimed that Marcos Jr. is also waiting for something.

“If the people are still waiting for something, the president is also waiting for something. The president is also waiting for a quick resolution from the Ombudsman and the DOJ. If all those involved have solid evidence and that is what the president wants, due process will be observed,”

Castro said.
