Recently, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that he has actually made an order to PhilHealth over the interest on the unpaid contributions of employers, employees, and self-employed members of the state-run health insurer. According to the Chief Executive. he ordered the government institution to implement a “one-time waiver”.

According to the President, the government knows that the 3% contribution to the state health insurer is felt by the citizens. The Chief Executive said the one-time interest waiver covers the unpaid contributions from July 2013 to December 2024.

”Sa aming patuloy na tumulong sa ating mga kababayan, lalong-lalo na sa tinatawag nating healthcare, eh inutusan ko po ang PhilHealth na magpatupad ng general amnesty para sa mga negosyante, private employer, mga self-employed na ating mga kababayan na hindi nabayaran ang kontribusyon sa PhilHealth,” Marcos said in a video message

,” Marcos Jr. said.

”Alam naman namin na ‘yung 3% na binabayad para sa PhilHealth na buwan-buwan ay ramdam na ramdam ng ating mga kababayan,”

Marcos Jr. added.

Program or more popularly known as YAKAP. According to Marcos Jr., through it, their workers can avail the benefits of PhilHealth such as comprehensive primary and outpatient care.

”Hinihikayat din natin ang ating mga employer na iupdate na lahat ng information ninyo at irehistro ang mga empleyado ninyo sa Yaman Kalusugan o ‘yung tinatawag nating YAKAP Program,”

the President expressed.

According to Marcos Jr., he is doing it to ease the burden of the Filipinos with regards to the healthcare cost and other daily challenge the people face. He ended his message with a New Year greeting for everyone.

“Ito po ay aking ginagawa upang pagaangin ang tala ng ating mga kababayan tungkol sa mga healthcare cost at iba-ibang hamon na hinaharap ng ating mga kababayan araw-araw,”

he expressed.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos recently signed the 2026 national budget amounting to P6.79 trillion. According to

Malacañang, the Marcos Jr. administration is confident that the 2026 national budget is allegedly the “cleanest and most proper”

spending law crafted.
