77-Year-Old Grandmother Attends Traslacion 2026 Despite Old Age
TRASLACION 2026
– A 77-year-old grandmother stood out as she joined the popular Feast of the Black Nazarene amid the sea of devotees.
Esralita Iman, fondly called Nanay Lita, a resident of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, who travels to Manila every year for this important religious event.
When she was younger and stronger, Nanay Lita bravely joined the crowds and pushed her way closer to the andas. She remembered how proud and grateful she felt whenever she managed to touch the image of the Black Nazarene. For her, this act was a way of giving thanks for all the blessings she received through the years.
The grandma believes that her good health, long life, and the safety of her family are gifts worth returning through faith and devotion. She also became emotional as she recalled the loss of her eldest child.
Despite the pain, she continues to trust that the Black Nazarene has a greater plan for her departed loved one.
The elderly devotee now chooses a safer and calmer way to attend the celebration. This year, she arrived early and avoided the thick crowd of thousands of devotees. Although she no longer joins the intense procession, she completed her devotion by kissing the image before it began.
