Hijo Who Lost Consciousness During Traslacion Expresses Gratitude to Black Nazarene
One of the Hijos who lost consciousness while riding the andas of Jesus Nazareno during the Traslacion 2026, is now in stable condition.
On Friday, January 9, 2026, the Hijo who collapsed during the recent Traslacion expressed gratitude and faith after regaining his strength.
In the video, the Hijo can be seen slowly losing consciousness amid the strong surge of devotees pushing forward during the procession. Surrounded by thousands of people and under extreme physical strain, his body eventually gave in.
As soon as fellow devotees noticed what was happening, a stretcher was brought to safely remove him from the andas.
Several devotees worked together to lift and carry him, showing teamwork and concern in the middle of the crowded procession. However, due to the tight space and movement of the crowd, the Hijo accidentally fell from the stretcher.
The incident caused alarm among nearby devotees, but they quickly lifted him again and placed him back on the stretcher to ensure he received proper care.
The devotee explained that unexpected situations can happen during the Traslacion, especially given the physical demands of serving as a Hijo.
Despite what happened, his faith remained strong, and he expressed deep gratitude to fellow Hijos, medical volunteers, and devotees who helped him during the incident.
Traslacion
this year lasted nearly 31 hours, making it the longest procession of Jesus Nazareno in history. Reports said two people died during the event, while more than 800 devotees needed medical attention due to exhaustion, injuries, and other health concerns.
