Teacher Inbured After Being Beaten by One of His Students
A 45-year-old public school teacher sustained injuries after being beaten by a student during a drinking session in Mondragon, Northern Samar.
On early Sunday morning, a teacher identified only by the alias Rohel, a resident of Barangay Quirino in Las Navas, Northern Samar, was drinking with two young individuals, including a 17-year-old minor and a 19-year-old Grade 11 student identified as Jari, who lives in Barangay Zone 1, San Roque.
The incident happened around 12:20 a.m. in Sitio Banika, Barangay Bugko, according to a report from the Mondragon Municipal Police Station. The supposed casual drinking session later turned violent after the group became intoxicated.
Police said that while under the influence of alcohol, Jari suddenly hit the teacher in the face using a plastic tumbler. The attack did not stop there, as the student continued to punch the teacher several times in different parts of his body.
The student did not explain what caused him to hurt his teacher. The commotion was quickly stopped when the other youth who were present intervened and managed to restrain the suspect.
He then sought help from the barangay tanods to prevent the situation from getting worse. The barangay officials immediately responded and arrested the student at the scene.

Afterward, the suspect was turned over to the Mondragon Municipal Police Station for proper handling and investigation. The injured teacher was left with wounds but survived the attack. Authorities have not released further details about his condition.
