Snatcher Arrested After Stealing French National’s Cellphone at EDSA Busway
A snatcher was caught after grabbing the cellphone of a French national at the EDSA Busway Quezon Avenue Station.
The incident happened last Saturday, January 10, 2026, as the foreign visitor was on his way to a nearby mall.
Instead, he immediately asked for help from EDSA Busway utility personnel stationed nearby. The request for help quickly led to action. SN2 Cole of the Philippine Coast Guard and Security Guard Sion responded without delay and launched a hot pursuit.
The fast response helped corner the suspect at a nearby gas station, where he was finally caught before he could escape.

By around 2:25 in the afternoon, a mobile patrol unit of the Philippine National Police arrived and took custody of the suspect. Shortly after, the stolen cellphone was recovered and safely returned to the relieved and thankful French national.
